Aurora Happening Now (10 November, 11:00 AEDST)

Launceston
K-Index plot diagramUnaided eye aurora (and beams)  have been reported as of a few minutes ago in Tasmania (Stanley, 7 Mile, Hobart). 562 km/sec Bz: -7.0 nT Density = 1.0 p/cc , Lanceston Kindex currently 5. Date: 10 11 2015 1152 UT Velocity: 673 km/sec Bz: 3.0 nT Density = 2.0 p/cc  It is likely that there will be bursts of auroral activity during the night as the solar wind intensity and Bz fluctuates.

Dark sky sites have the best chance of seeing anything, and always allow around 5 minutes for your eyes to become dark adapted.

As always look to the south for shifting red/green glows, beams have been reported consistently over the last few aurora and a bright "proton arc" has been seen.
